Capacitive Liquid level Proximity Sensor
A capacitance based sensor designed to detect the presence or absence of liquid within a container. The sensor is affixed to the exterior wall of a non metallic tank to provide a non invasive approach to detecting the presence or absence of a liquid at the desired level.
It can be mounted on the wall of a tank of between 1 and 5mm thick to monitor changes in the dielectric properties at the sensing level.
Where it senses that liquid is present, the dielectric constant increases causing the sensor output to switch to low, In the event that it senses no liquid, the dielectric decreases and the output remains high.
This solution offers a very clean and simple installation without the risk of contaminants getting into the system.
