Vertical Liquid Level Sensor
Vertical Liquid Level Sensors are typically mounted through a sealed hole in the top of a tank. The float rises and falls with the level, actuating reed switches according to set parameters. Signals are then sent to trigger an action with a system or process, making these components essential for accurate monitoring in applications such as flood control, industrial automation, robotic lubrication levels, agriculture, marine, HVAC and water level monitoring systems.
Where access to the top of a tank is not possible the vertical float sensor can be mounted through the base of the tank, key considerations such as pressure limits, the sensor must be able to withstand the hydrostatic pressure generated by the full tank. With the mounting point constantly submerged it is critical that applicable sealing methods are taken into account. Switch logic is reversed and float switch construction can be changed to accommodate this.
No power is consumed during standby status.
The sensor is available as either Normally Open, SPDT or Normally Closed with single or multiple switch points in Polypropylene, Nylon, Nitrile Butadine Rubber or stainless steel for harsh environments. They are easy to install and have a compact size, which is customizable, mix and match sensor housing and float material to suit the target liquid. The cable can be supplied as PVC or Teflon with the desired length and connector combination. Determine the switch points to suit your application.
